Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Nebojša Stefanović was present today, along with Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin, at the base of the Special antiteroprističke Unit (SAJ) presentation perfected and modified rifles and pistols from the production companies of the defense industry Serbia – “Zastava Arms” from Kragujevac.

We want to replace one of the old weapons that police officers wear for years, and thus contribute to our police officers are better protected and effective in carrying out regular tasks, “said Minister Stefanovic.
He said police officers will test new weapons in the coming days, that is, a machine gun, automatic rifles and pistols, developed by the military-purpose industry.
Minister Stefanovic thanked Minister Vulin and people from the military industry for their willingness to always meet in order that the police would arm themselves equally well as the military.
“I expect that in the coming period we will be able to count on even closer and more quality cooperation in the procurement of protective equipment for our members. I want the police to use everything they can from domestic products, as we use the “laser” and “grace” as well as the modernized “BOV”, which we worked in cooperation with SDPR. Our goal is to use the weapons, which is the product of domestic intelligence and domestic industry, in order to get police officers everything they need, but also to save our country, “said Stefanovic.
Minister Vulin pointed out that the security structures in this country are not divided into the army and the police, because everyone is doing exactly the same job, which is why they must be equipped in the same way and in accordance with the needs of their specific work.
“The Defense Industry of Serbia is another proof of why the policy of military neutrality is good and right, because when you are military neutral, when you decide on yourself and your industry yourself, then you can produce such things, then you are able to save your mind for yourself and then you are able to arm your army and your police at the lowest possible prices, in accordance with the highest possible criteria and the highest possible standards. So we will continue to behave, “said Vulin.
Minister Vulin also said that he believes that the products of the defense industry of Serbia are good enough for both our army and our police, and that in this way we will improve the everyday life of every soldier and every one of our policemen.
